We the People: A More Perfect UnionThe Brookfield Public Library Youth Services Department is a proud 2010 recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities materials grant for a We the People Bookshelf. Every year, in cooperation with the American Library Association, the NEH chooses a different theme important to American heritage and selects books that embody the theme. This collection of books is the Bookshelf. The Bookshelf introduces young readers to great literature and promotes the understanding of important American ideals.

These books will be available to all patrons of the Brookfield Public Library, for use by individuals, community groups or in school classrooms. A complete list of the collection can be found here and in the Youth Services Department.
