Services for Seniors

Homebound Delivery & Proxy Borrower Services

We are committed to serving those Brookfield residents who may find it difficult to come into the Library. If you, a friend, or loved one would benefit from home delivery of library services, or if you would like to designate a proxy borrower, please print out, complete, and mail in the interest form here. A librarian will contact you.

Talking Books & Braille Services

The Illinois State Library offers a Talking Book and Braille Service for blind, visually impaired, or physically handicapped residents. Services offered include talking books and the machines required to play them, Braille materials, and a magazine service.

Residents must have a certified authority recommend them for the service. An Adult Services Librarian can assist you in this capacity if you decide to apply for the program.

For more information on this service, give us a call or visit the Voices of Vision Talking Book Center's website.

AARP Tax Assistance

During tax season, professional tax preparers volunteer to assist our senior patrons on an appointment basis, typically in February and March. Check our Events Calendar for more information.
