Laptops for Use Inside the Library

We have 18 Dell laptop computers available for use within the library. A valid ID is required to check out a laptop and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ask at the Check Out Desk for more information.

Laptops for Home Use

We have 4 Dell laptop computers available for at-home use.  A Brookfield library card is required to check out a laptop and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Children ages 14-17 must have a release signed by a parent or guardian. Laptops for home use have a 3-day lending period, and overdue fines are $15 per day.  For more information, please find our policy, press release, and instruction sheet

 

Wireless Printing

Whether inside the Library on a laptop or smartphone or at home or work, you can send print jobs to the Library's black and white or color printer. Printing costs ten cents per page for black & white, and fifty cents per page for color.  Either follow the steps at PrintSpot or email black and white dosucments to printspots-bfpl-bw@printspots.com and color documents to printspots-bfpl-color@printspots.com.  Print jobs remain in the queue for 5 hours to give you time to drop by and pay to release your print job.  

Computer Access

We have many computer workstations available for patron use. All computers offer internet access and are equipped with the Microsoft Office suite of software. USB ports and CD drives are available at each workstation.

With a valid Brookfield Library Card, you may reserve computer time online. Click here to sign up for an hour of Internet use, up to 7 days in advance. Please note that patrons who owe fines in excess of $5.00 must clear their account before using the computers.

Computer Instruction

We offer free workshops for patrons who want to learn more about how to use computers and the internet. Computer Basics, Introduction to Windows 7, Introduction to Email, Introduction to the Internet, Introduction to Microsoft Word, and Introduction to Microsoft Excel classes are available. eReaders

The Library circulates four NOOKs, four Sony Readers, and six Kindles to Brookfield residents with cards in good standing.  They circulate for three weeks and are enabled to download My Media Mall content.  For more information, stop by the Information Desk or refer to the eBook Reader Policy
