Golden Globe Awards
The 2008 Golden Globe Award Nominees were recently announced in Hollywood. Nominated pictures include Revolutionary Road, a novel of suburban life by Richard Yates, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald.  Most of the nominees are just being released in theaters now, and won't be out on DVD until much later in 2009.
But it's possible to check out 2007 Golden Globe nominees you may have missed. Â
Some of the movies that were nominated in 2007 include:
There Will Be Blood (based on Upton Sinclair's "Oil") Â
No Country for Old Men (based on Cormac McCarthy's novel of the same name)
Atonement (based on Ian McEwan's novel of the same name)
As You Like It (starring Bruce Dallas Howard, an adaption of Shakespeare's play directed by Kenneth Branagh)
Gone Baby Gone (based on the novel by Dennis Lehane)
Charlie Wilson's War (based on the non-fiction book, "Charlie Wilson's War:Â the Extraordinary Story of the Largest Covert Operation in History" by George Crile)
These and other films, including Lars and the Real Girl, Sweeney Todd:Â The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Away From Her, featuring Julie Christie's award-winning performance, are on display next to the non-fiction DVDs (next to the newspapers).Â
