Her lover is vampire Jean-Claude, but she ends up traveling to North Carolina with her old friend the werewolf Jason so he can say good-bye to his dying father. What was meant to be a family visit finds Anita solving a mystery involving Jason's rich, look-alike cousin Keith Summerland.
